Based on her true life story, Bethany creatively shares the impact people can make by simply believing in the joy others can bring. True joy is found deep within our hearts when we know others are truly glad to be with us, no matter what. Joy knows we do not need to be fixed. Joy is safe. Joy offers time to try new things. Joy is found in Christ and in you and me.

Meet Bethany Boring

Bethany Boring lives with CHARGE Syndrome causing her to have low-vision, profound hearing-loss, a short right arm, a pacemaker, and other daily challenges. But she is a Joy Catcher! She is a proud mom to 3 amazing boys and a full-time motivational speaker and thriving business owner. As a certified Christian mental health coach, Bethany empowers counsellors and leaders using her 20-plus years of ministry experience and collaboration with numerous organizations. She provides mental health coaching, team building, and leadership development services.Bethany founded Step Out & Thrive and TIP Groups to foster peer support among Christian professionals. She also hosts the “Radical Care for Christian Counselors” weekly podcast. Known for her engaging speaking style, her events and talks inspire faith and resilience, with the goal of cultivating thriving, transformative communities.

Meet Lowri Williams

Lowri Williams is a Children’s Book Illustrator from Wales, UK. With several years’ experience in creating artwork, Lowri has volunteered at local community centres and schools teaching younger children in Art clubs, graduated from the University of Plymouth with a First-Class degree in BA (Hons) Illustration, and is now completing her master’s degree in MA Communication Design, specialising in Illustration. Lowri’s favourite thing about illustration is visual communication and storytelling. She enjoys writing and illustrating children’s picture books and building memorable narratives. Themes and contents in the world that inspire her work are mental health, wildlife, adventure, and personal memories and experiences from childhood. Connecting with Bethany and illustrating her story was very important to Lowri as she first learnt about CHARGE Syndrome through a personal connection.
